Breach of the Lebanon-Israel Ceasefire Agreement: What is Our Stance?

So called “warning missiles” against Israeli violations in Lebanon, or, rather, against military attacks on Syrian army and Iranian Revolutionary Guard positions in Aleppo, Hama, and Homs?

    *

Even if Israel is the party that violated the ceasefire, which might certainly be the case, we are against what the Iranian party (Hezbollah) calls a “warning step”, meaning the firing of Iranian missiles from Lebanon towards Israel!!

What Hezbollah and its supporters do not understand is that the Lebanese people reject the presence of any armed force in Lebanon other than the Lebanese Army and Lebanese Internal Security Forces, full stop!

Pro-Iranian Lebanese Journalist QassemKassir says: “The question is: How do we confront Israeli violations and attacks if the international committee fails to enforce the agreement and if the Lebanese army is unable to respond? What is the stance of so-called sovereigns parties… and all those who expressed solidarity with journalist Dawood Rammal after the incident (in fact aggression by Hezbollah members) in the town of Dweir?”

Our answer is simple: First, even if the “international committee” fails, and even if the Lebanese army “fails to respond,” this will be a “Lebanese”, not an “Iranian” problem! Even if Lebanese martyrs fall due to Israeli strikes, it is Lebanon alone, not the Iranian Mulla, that must find solutions to defend its people! It would not be a disgrace for the Lebanese state to resort to the United Nations and to friendly countries to put an end to Israeli strikes, especially since Lebanon enjoys the support and friendship of all countries of the world, unlike the isolated and sanctioned Iranian regime.

This is the essence of the disagreement between us and the Iranian occupation proxies!

If a group of Lebanese citizens condemn Israel’s war on Gaza (even though it was the “Muslim Brotherhood”, that is “Hamas”, who initiated the “aggression”), that does not give such Lebanese citizens the “right” to import missiles from Iran, bring in “Iranian military officers,” or pledge “loyalty” to the ruler of a foreign country! In any other country, such people would be called a “fifth column” and would tried for “high treason!” Except in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen, where they are called “resistance!”

Unconditional surrender of Japan’s imperial army. A few military commanders committed suicide, and Emperor Hirohito signed a document acknowledging that the Japanese nation was not “superior to all other nations” and confirming that he himself was not “a god.” Thus, Japan entered an era of peace, progress, and prosperity.

Second:  Hezbollah was defeated, and I repeat, defeated in its recent war with Isael! It will be the only party required to hand over its weapons in the South of Litani region and to be disarmed all over Lebanon. To make things clearer: the IDF will not hand over its arms under the ceasefire agreement!

Moreover, UNIFIL forces are present only in Lebanese territory, not in Israel!

In other words, the myth of “balance” (in the ceasefire accord) is a lie. “Hezbollah” was defeated in the recent war, and any attempt to avoid acknowledging its defeat will cost the Lebanese people, not Tehran’s rulers, more martyrs, destruction, and ruined homes.

The Lebanese deserve a full and sincere apology

In the end, all “justifications” from the Iran’s proxy party are inacceptable: the alleged “support” for Gaza cost Lebanon 7,000 dead, 100,000 completely or partially homes destroyed, ruined crops, and one million displaced people. The least required from Hezbollah apologists (in this case Mr. Kassim Kassir) and from the ignonymously defeated “Hezbollah” is a clear and honest apology. An apology to the Lebanese people, the Lebanese state, and the Lebanese army.

Warning Missiles… to Support Assad in Aleppo!
Finally, it is our impression that the “warning missiles” launched yesterday by  “Hezbollah” were, in reality, intended to “support” Bashar Assad and the Iranian forces who were defeated in “Aleppo,” Syria, rather than responding to Israeli violations of the ceasefire accord.

One last point: Mr. Kassem Kassir refers to “those who expressed solidarity with journalist Dawood Rammal after the incident in the town of Dweir.”

“Incident’? Should we feel grateful that journalist Dawood Rammal, close to Speaker Nabih Berri, was not killed with silenced pistols like our dear friend “Luqman Salim”?

Years ago, Speaker Nabih Berri said, “Hezbollah did to us what Israel never did!” The long era (30 years) during which “Hezbollah” could persecute the Amal Movement at will has come to an end thanks to Israel!
