KUWAIT, Feb 7 (KUNA) — Minister of Information, Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah lauded on Sunday Lebanon’s “role toward Kuwaiti causes in general and sports issues in particular.”

Sheikh Salman, during a meeting with the chairman of the Lebanese youth and sports committee and MP Simon Abi Ramia and other visiting officials, affirmed the two sides’ keenness on supporting issues of bilateral interest, particularly with respect of sport and youth cooperation.

For his part, the Lebanese legislator said in a statement to KUNA that the two parties during the meeting underlined the close ties between the two countries, indicating that they touched on the international suspension of the Kuwaiti sports.

He pledged that Lebanon would stand on Kuwait’s side at the international sports quarters and would seek to persuade FIFA and relevant international agencies to lift the ban.
