Designating Hezbollah fallen combatants as “army martyrs” disastrous

Designating Hezbollah’s fallen combatants as  “martyrs of the Lebanese Armed Forces” is a disastrous proposition.

First, it would be “officializing” terrorism, as these fallen combatants were acting outside government authority and at the behest of Iran to support a “terror organization” namely, Hamas.

Second, it would amount to “financing terrorism” as the monies that are allocated to the Lebanese Armed Forces, would, in part, be used to pay for the pensions of those deceased combatants.

Third, it would be “equating” terrorism with the Lebanese Armed Forces which are supposed to maintain and to monitor a ceasefire precisely between the “terrorists” and the State of Israel.

Fourth, it would be a subterfuge to “ease” the entry of terrorists into the Lebanese Armed Forces as a prelude to shedding their designation as a militia  and to a ‘takeover’ the army but from within.

Whomever came up with this treacherous plan, knows exactly what he is doing and if Parliament – in the heat of presidential elections and to please all factions just to secure votes- passes this law, the country -as we knew it- would be no more.

This is a trick that Speaker Nabih Berri (currently, the “ambassador at large of Iran”!), must have come up with as a ‘test’ to presidential candidates, including the commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces.

    This proposal should not pass….
